Current Affairs

There's a lot of chatter coming out of Pennsylvania, after the primary.  People start asking, why hasn't Barack put away Clinton yet.  Some people are talking about how Barack spent so much more money than Hillary in Pennsylvania.

Some of these people are the same people.  Some of these people work for Hillary Clinton.

Nobody is talking about how much it would cost to get a former President of the United States of America to campaign for you.  Nobody is talking about the value of being white in an election in the United States of America.

How much would that cost?

Why hasn't Hillary put Barack away yet?  She is not the underdog.  She cried going into New Hampshire.  She won the primary.  She's a girl.  She can cry on TV and get immediate sympathy.  She cried in debates that moderators were being unfair toward her.  She got sympathy.

So tally up the benefits that Hillary Rodham Clinton has in this election: white, girl, millionaire and the wife of a former President.  What benefits does Barack Obama have in this election compared to Hillary's?

He's black.  That's not helping him.  Between him and his wife, he made a million in 2005.  Barack is articulate.  A point that was made painstakingly in the initial introduction of Barack Obama to America.  Ladies and gentlemen, don't be afraid; we've got an articulate black man for you to listen to.

And white America just opened her arms to him.  For he was their black leader.  What history books have you been reading to let you think you'd ever see this day.  A black man as the leader of the United States of America?  I love the idea, but I'll believe it when I see it.  I'm still not convinced that white people in America will overwhelmingly support such an action.

A black man as president.

Just a heads up, a lot of blue-collar, white voters in Pennsylvania don't want a black president.  That's why Barack Obama lost in Pennsylvania.  Below, Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell is trying to politely explain racism to this newscaster (without using the word "racism") but she keeps coming off as if she's never heard of racism before.

(Baby- in the Pennsylvania form, it's when whites don't like coloreds.  Although racism comes in many varieties.)

Barack Obama may be many things, but he is not the privileged, elite Democrat candidate for president.  It is an interesting tactic to continue keeping the Brother down by making it seem that somehow the Brother is more powerful than the Man.

That's ludicrious.

According to recent data released by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, the United States Army has the lowest standards of any other branch of U.S. military service.  In 2007, the United States Army enlisted twice as many felons as in 2006.  The United States Marines only allowed 59% more felons to enlist in the same time period.  The United States Navy decreased their number of felony enlistments by 12.5% in 2007; while the United States Air Force held steady not allowing any felons to enlist.

War and bad economy aside, this data definitively gives bragging rights to military men and women throughout America.  Until the data for 2008 is released- sometime next year, I'd imagine- a sailor can now rightfully claim that they're better than the Army guy; because it was tougher to get into their branch of the U.S. military service.

I'm an Army guy.
Thanks Uncle Sam.

Our Nation is Now Dumber for This…Thank You for Your Participation!

It's amazing that Rush Limbaugh is even on the air anymore.  I use to enjoy his show back in 1990.  It's the same show and so much has changed (or at least should've by now- right?)  Rush seemed like he had a mind at one point, but now
he's encouraging people to riot in Denver at the Democratic National Convention.

Limbaugh has been quoted saying, "Riots in Denver at the Democrat Convention would see to it we don't elect Democrats.  And that's the best damn thing (that) could happen for this country."

I think I'm kind of amazed that someone took the time to transcribe Rush's show; however, beyond that Rush is now not being just conservative- he's becoming intolerant.  The Golden Microphone is covered in devious tactics and calculated subterfuge.  Rush Limbaugh is talking like a Nazi and I don't mean that figuratively.

The Nazi's didn't just one day appear.  Over time bitterness stewed in national economic woes built of privately owned financial concerns thereby frustrating the youth.  Frustrated and charismatic men reached out to the youth to fulfill a vision.  I'm sure for many of the troops it was just something to do in a world that seems so boring.  Many people are just along for the ride in life.

There's no reason to doubt the Nazi Party didn't have a full roster of fanatics.

And then Crystal Night arrives and the young men of your town are breaking the windows of shop owners they don't like, but it is more than that.  It's not that the young men just don't like the shop owners. The shop owners are now harmful to society and therefore they must be removed.

And yet, it all started with riots.  Riots in which the town people looked the other way, because maybe they supported the riot just a little.  Just a little became a lot and that's why we live in a democracy.  At least in theory.  The mass participation of citizens in the running of their government is a safeguard against greed and corruption.

That's the rationale behind why the word "democracy" feels so nice.

We oppress people for democracy, but we also have hope as long as the word "democracy" is spoken.  Democracy implies that maybe we don't have it right today, but we can fix it for tomorrow.  We can find a more suitable manner in which to conduct our affairs with one another.  The hope is that tomorrow will be better than today.

I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank Rush Limbaugh for trying to inspire us for something better.
Thanks buddy.

Belly Laugh

Al Bundy, and Married With Children, must've been divinely inspired at the time that it came out.  It was flat out hilarious and in many respectives seemed to speak to something happening within America.  It is easy to overlook the fact that Married With Children was on for 11 seasons (not that all 11 seasons were inspired though- the show did fall off a cliff after a while.)
