February 28th Birthdays

(1930) Gavin McLeod- I didn't really care for "The Love Boat" or anything but The Kids in the Hall used him as a punchline to—what I think—is a very funny skit.

[Scene: a prison exercise yard. One prisoner is thrown up against a fence by another, who punches him in the face]

Man 1: Now maybe you'll understand that when you owe me money, I expect you pay it back on time. [He punches the guy in the stomach and turns to the yard] What about you, punk? [Shot reveals who he's addressing, from behind. He is holding a broom and absently going through the motions of sweeping] You got that money you owe me?

Kevin: Slipped my mind.

Man 1: You have any idea what I do to people who don't pay me what they owe me?

Kevin: I'm just sick about this. I'll tell you what: tomorrow I'll have your money plus an autographed picture of Gavin McLeod.

I couldn't find a video posted of the skit above.  It's much funnier to watch I'm sure.

(1940) Joe South- He wrote the song "Hush" which Deep Purple would go on to make a little crunchier.

(1942) Brian Jones- The Rolling Stones almost made it to being as cool as the Beatles, but not quite.

(1945) Wilfred Gibson- I said it yesterday and I'll say it again today.  ELO made some good music.

(1948) Bernadette Peters- She was a good actress and a good looking lady.

(1953) Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat- One of the best wrestlers to ever step into the ring.

Part 2:

(1955) Gilbert Gottfried- When he's "on" he's hysterical.  When he doesn't make sense, he's just being retarded.

(1957) Cindy Wilson- The B-52's had a sound I didn't appreciate when they were doing their thing.  Sometimes I now wish someone else would pick up their sound and run with it.
