It would be nice to have more than two parties to listen to in America!

The Administration of W. Bush had at least one thing going for it.  They generally presented a fairly unified front most of the time.  Finding dissenters in the W. years were few and far between.  Now as the Administration will be more fully realized (and concretized) in history books, dissent has surfaced from unexpected areas.

Former Vice President Dick Cheney has gone on record as saying he disagreed with W's decision to not exonerate Cheney's former Chief of Staff "Scooter" Libby.

The question is: What does Cheney hope to accomplish here?  Vice President's usually just fade into
distant memory, if they don't get elected President of the United States of America.  Is Cheney bucking for a 2012 run at the White House since the Republican party is in absolute disarray?  Could Cheney win?  Are there enough people in America who have already forgotten Dick's dour face?

Could Americans possibly consider electing this guy president?  If he's not making a bid for the
White House, what else could be the purpose of showing dissent toward any of W's policies now?

Does Dick think the history books might place an asterisk next his name?

On the other hand, this may just be a further sign of the Republican party falling into complete disarray.  The party needs to disband as it is really doing a disservice to itself and the American people right now.  There seems to be no principles in the GOP.  Every attempt to keep the party alive seems, at best, like patching a leaking dam with bubble gum.

The Libertarian Party should step up now and make a serious push for contention in 2012.  Why not have the Green Party and the Reform Party make similar bids?

It would be nice to have more than two parties to listen to in America!
