April 16th Birthdays

(1867) Wilbur Wright- It's a helluva thing leaving the ground.

(1889) Charlie Chaplin- He's a little tramp.

(1924) Henry Mancini- He wrote the theme to Peter Gunn...

    ...and the Pink Panther...

...that's quite an accomplishment in and of itself.

(1937) George "the Animal" Steele- He wasn't much to watch wrestle, but who couldn't fall in love with that face?

(1939) Dusty Springfield- She made a beautiful and timeless song.

(1947) Gerry Rafferty- He wrote one of my all time favorite songs...

...and then he managed to outdo himself by writing a song more beautiful than that.

(1947) Kareem Abdul-Jabbar- A basketball legend.  Asa lama lakum, my brother.

(1962) Ian MacKaye- If you're going to listen to punk music you can do a lot worse than Minor Threat.

(1962) Jason Scheff- He played bass in the band Chicago.

(1965) Martin Lawrence-  Damn, Gina!

I'm not sure if I follow what you're saying.  Am I the exhibitionist here?  If that's the case, then I retort, in this post most of the people I've selected for this day wouldn't have been considered "A" list celebrities.  Some wouldn't make the "C" list, but they all did something to be recognized and noticed.  Which is quite an accomplishment in a world of billions who apparently do nothing of note.  If someone else is the celebrity exhibitionist, then I don't understand who that other person is.  If you'd like to clarify, I'd be willing to read it.

I'm very pleased that you like my blog.  The biggest problem with using videos from You Tube, is that over time the videos may disappear and it leaves a hole in the story.  However, I look at writing on the internet much differently than writing on paper.  There are so many possibilities on the internet to incorporate pictures, video and files.  I appreciate your critique on how you think I weave these elements together.  Thank you!
